Purpose
Use photography to capture a profile portrait;
Photograph or find online, a collection of objects that represent your identity.
Use Photoshop to turn a portrait into a clear silhouette.
Use a clipping mask* to place your object photograph inside the silhouette shape.
Create a digital artwork that visually communicates aspects of your identity.
This project made me problem-solve a lot. Before this, the only editing tool I had ever used was CapCut, and this digital art (artwork created using online tools and software) was a big step up. I had a lot of fun creating the composition (the way elements are arranged in artwork) of my objects and I spent a lot of time arranging the different things. It involved a lot of refinement (improving and adjusting work) because sometimes I would add or remove something I wasn't happy with and I would have to replace it with something else. This silhouette (a solid dark outline) of my face really represents my identity (the qualities and beliefs that make me who I am) because I carefully chose all of the images I included.
