*Check out some BIG NEWS for our YHSBB Alums, Sam Bradford & Gibby Sullivan!
Gibby Sullivan - a senior at Bates and a proud 2022 graduate of Yarmouth High School - did some "yard work" last weekend agains Macalester in a 7-2 win for the Bobcats. Gibby went 3 for 5 with 3 Runs and 2 RBI while YHS '24 grad David Swift went 1 for 3 (and is hitting a "cool" .327 this year!). Congrats men.
Gibby Sullivan named to the inaugural Small College Baseball Player of the Year Watch List. Check it out at https://gobatesbobcats.com/sports/baseball
Sam Bradford named the Little East Conference "Rookie of the Week" for the week of March 9th. Check it out at https://www.umassd.edu
Yarmouth Community Services and Sports Fields Inc. replaced our entire YHSBB infield in early November. For the first time in over 20 years we have new sod and fresh cut-outs for our baselines, mound, home plate area, and the entire infield layout. We are truly grateful to YCS for providing us with (what will be...) one of the best infield surfaces in southern Maine.
UPDATE: We are in the process of finalizing our spring training trip to Plymouth South High School in Plymouth, Massachusetts. There will be more information coming out in the next few months and I will communicate that through email and simple posts on this YHSBB website.
SUMMER BASEBALL 2025
A Team Record: 10-5
B Team Record: 6-4-1
Thank you to everybody who made the summer of 2025 so successful. We finished the summer season with a 16-9-1 overall record, a 10-5 "A" team record, two playoff victories over Class A teams, and a respectable loss to the Gorham/Deering combo team in the semi-finals.
Yarmouth Baseball is battling back from a tough spring and we (the coaching staff) are extraordinarily proud of the commitment, effort, coachability, and on-field success we saw from our 27 guys over the past eight weeks. We are already looking forward to March 23rd and one of the most competitive preseasons in recent memory.
20 years of Yarmouth Baseball success was built on the commitment, sacrifice, and team-first mentality of nearly 200 YHSBB players. The future of Yarmouth Baseball will be built on those same three important characteristics as we move forward into 2026.
Row the Boat!

*CONGRATS to Iggy McGrath for being named Second Team All Conference Class B Outfielder for the 2025 season.
RECAP OF THE 2024 State Championship
Incredible work from The Forecaster's Michael Hoffer! Enjoy.
& Southern Maine Final
The State Game
Sam Lowenstein pitched just the third No-Hitter in the last 30 years of Yarmouth Clippers Baseball on Thursday afternoon, May 16th, against Gray-New Gloucester at YHS. Sam joins the elite "YHSBB No-Hitter Club" that include Andy Estabrook (1994) and Liam Hickey (2022). Sam went the distance against GNG, allowing 3 walks, and striking out 11 hitters on 92 pitches. Congrats Sammy!
Yarmouth Clipper Baseball News
Juniors Sam Lowenstein, David Swift, and Andrew Cheever were all selected to the 2024 Senior All Star Game, a year after playing in the 2023 Maine Underclassmen All Star Game. Congrats Andrew, David, and Sam, and thank you for representing YHSBB with pride and dignity.
Liam Hickey - Yarmouth High School Class of 2023 - walked into the St. Lawrence Baseball offices last fall and asked for a tryout. Five weeks later he was clocked throwing in the mid-80's and quickly became an official member of the Saints pitching staff.
Liam wrapped up a stellar YHS career with a brilliant pitching performance in both the Southern Maine Championship game (4-2) and the State Championship game (a 1-0 loss) last spring. More importantly, he was the consumate leader and role model for our team. Good luck at St. Lawrence, Liam!
Liam Hickey earned his first college victory on Monday, March 18th, with 4 innings of 1-run, 3-hit baseball. Liam struck out 4 hitters and helped St. Lawrence beat Knox Prairie 14-3.
Gibby Sullivan (YHS, Class of 2022) will continue his college baseball career at Bates College this spring. The former standout Clipper played in seven games as a Freshman, playing multiple infield positions, hitting .222 with a pair of RBI.
While at Yarmouth High, Gibby finished with 30 hits, 26 RBI, 20 Runs scored, five Doubles, and three Homeruns. Gib was also a standout at first base and performed brilliantly as both an "opener" and our closer on the mound, earning 3 Saves and striking out 27 hitters in 22.3 innings.
Good luck to Gib in 2024, and go Bobcats!
Here's a great video of Gibby ripping a bases-clearing triple in early season action for the Bates College Bobcats. The 'Cats beat Plymouth State 10-1.

Congratulations to four Class of 2024 Yarmouth Baseball Clippers who will continue playing baseball at the college level. Andrew Cheever will join the Merrimack Warriors in Andover, Massachusetts. David Swift and Sam Lowenstein will stay in Maine as David joins the Bates Bobcats in Lewiston and Sam heads up to Waterville to play for the Colby Mules. And Sam Bradford will play for the UMass Dartmouth Corsairs in southeastern Massachusetts. Andrew, David, Sam, and Sam have worked hard over the past decade to earn these opportunities and we are extraordinarily proud of their dedication, passion, and commitment to the game, and to Yarmouth High School baseball.
