Clay and cotton yarn, 3 x 3 x 1.5 inches for the dome, 1 x 1 x 0.4 inches for the thing in the middle, 1 x 1 x 2 inches for the bag-like shape, 1 x 3 inches for the test tile in the front, and 1.2 x 4 inches for the test tile in the back
Objective:
Create a work of art based on the work of an artist (and medium) of your choice. Utilize what you know about sculpture materials to create the highest quality piece you can.
Reflection:
I learned how to follow a sculpture idea through completion, and experiment with different methods and materials to get an end result I like. I tried a thick yarn and a thinner yarn and found the thinner yarn produced a much better result, so I continued using that. Another thing I tried was dipping crocheted pieces versus soaking the yarn and crocheting with it, and I learned that the dipped pieces looked much better than the soaked ones. Overall, this project has helped me learn about the benefits of trial and error.
