Poem by Xela Sztam:
When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade.
And when an angel fell on my head, i was heaven and underworld bound.
And thats when the angel gave me lemons.
Worst humilliation of my life, thanks a lot.
so this poem for me, expresses how life is right now.for me at least. its like your trapped between two decisions at once, be safe and not get covid, or dont and have fun. plus when your transitioning into the pressure of middle school. and that the state of our country compared to other places who celebrate not. having a single case of covid. kind of humilliating. thats just my feelings, feel free to disagree.
Poem by Rowan Berkeley:
Cool sand seeps between my toes.
Pulling, crashing, bounding waves echo through my ears.
Like a giant mountain breaking apart and scattering into tiny specks of sand.
Is there life beyond your endless waves?
Your warm ocean breeze travels through me as I walk along your shores.
How long does it take for the beach to fill with sand?
The beach makes me feel content and creative.
Every grain of sand is a new possibility.
There’s no place I'd rather be.
and another by Amos Gumaer
Our hands have been there our whole life.
We have used our hands for many things in
the past like building or digging.
Without hands things could be more difficult for us.
Our hands are very important and we don't always
realize it, so try to realize it.
Appreciate hands and how they help.
