This painting help me learn a new skill all together, I had never worked with water colors before and it was vary different from other mediums I was familiar with. It helped me work slow and methodically while making sure to keep things light and accurate, it helped with my perspective work and working background to foreground. It also help me transfer a picture I had taken into a new pice of art all together, while knowing I wasn't trying to make a replica of the picture. I wanted to take the picture and use it to help me make the painting with its general look and feel. I learned more about mixing colors and different techniques I need to make certain effects happen with the water color like the wet on wet technique or the dry brush technique or the lifting technique all of these I used in my painting at some point to help me get to this final result. I had a little trouble toward the end with having touch water in my brush casing some paint to lift and trying to get a good contrast in the water and the sky was difficult but I figured it out.
