To use the correct facial proportions to draw yourself as accurately as you can; and draw the individual features, eyes, nose, mouth in a convincing 3D way; as well as use the “grid” method to help you draw accurately; and to use charcoal and a stomp to show value changes and dimension.
This self portrait drawing challenged me a lot not just artistically but also personally, I have had a hard time starting at myself and not taking in just what I want to see but all of it. The fact that my face is off set just a tiny bit, or that my eyes don't line up on the same exact spot, or the fact that my nose doesn't button at the vary end. All of this had been hard for me to have to see and dwell on but as i worked on it more and looked at my self more i started to see myself as more then just the some of my parts but a whole person. That is what ultimately made me work so hard on finishing it because I wanted to see not only my finished product of hours of labor ,but also to finely see how my self image would appear. Although I still have some mess-ups that I would definitely change if I got to do this again I am so extremely proud of myself and the work I did on this drawing.
