I make art because it helps me to calm down. Sometimes life can go too fast, it can feel like there’s no way to slow down. But when I make art, when I am painting, or writing, or singing, it feels like everything is calm again. I feel like I have control over what I’m doing. When I create, I suddenly feel like there is nothing holding me back, like what happens is finally under my control. I can draw entire worlds on a piece of paper. I can type actions and feelings. I can write things that make people happy, make people sad. I can instigate change, I can make someone laugh. Art is a way that you can do so many things, despite how chaotic everything else might be. In this class I hope to learn how to channel this creativity to create things that will evoke emotions in not only me, but others too. I want to step out of my comfort zone and create something that I wouldn't have made without this class. I want to improve on seeing the world through a creative eye, noticing things that I could create from the world around me. Those are the things that I would like to improve on during this class.
