I was especially proud of my half-portrait drawing of Brad Pitt. I think I did a great job of capturing his essence overall, but a few particular parts stood out to me. First of all, I took a long time replicating the hair, and the work paid off. I love how the hair turned out and it's almost exactly like the picture. Some other details I loved were the nose and the eyebrow. I thought the nose brought his face together nicely and I just surprised myself with the accuracy in his eyebrow. This activity was a great segway from our composite face drawings to our final charcoal self-portraits. It is easier to draw someone next to their photo than draw their face entirely so it was the perfect way for us to learn about proportions, placement, and facial harmony without jumping into something we weren't prepared for.
