I’m most proud of this because I really challenged myself with it and tried new techniques and mediums. My previous portrait was not great, so I worked really hard to improve on this and I think it paid off! It was definitely a hard medium as well, and I spent a lot of time coming back to things and perfecting which took a lot of time and patience. I think that the pieces of art that create the biggest sense of pride are the ones that had a lot of thought, care, and time put into them because you can really feel that in your work.
I really like bright colors and happy/meaningful moments. I especially like capturing nostalgic and comforting things because I want my art to bring people joy and appreciation for what they have experienced. For me, I'm happiest when I'm creating happy art, so making a lively or heartwarming mood through my piece is the goal!
I really hope to get better at both spending more time on details/being more patient and letting myself get looser with painting/drawing because I tend to focus too much on details sometimes which makes my art a little more structured. I say this every year, and have improved somewhat, but still need work! I would also like to get better faces, people, and proportion.
I would love to learn about acrylic process as well as mixed media. I have never been able to master acrylic, so I really hope to learn more about how to make that better! I also really would like to try mixed media. I don’t know what that would look like, but I really want to try new styles and techniques while incorporating different art styles!
