Drawing and Painting, Fall 2024
Eleanor Weyenberg
Eleanor Weyenberg
My goals for this class are to improve general painting and drawing skills, such as dimension, depth, and contrast. I would like to get better at using/mixing colors to create depth, dimension, shading, and contrast. In both drawing and painting, I would like to learn how to create more detail in my art.
Reflecting on my goals for the semester:
I think that I met my goals for the semester! I learned how to create dimension, depth, and contrast in every piece of artwork that I created. I learned how to make my face look more 3D, create highlights and shadows in a landscape, and use different lines to make darkness and light. I used a palette knife for the first time and made a color wheel to practice mixing colors of different tints, tones, and shades. I learned how to get warmer and cooler values by using different colors and combinations. My artwork got a lot better from initial sketches to practices to final projects, and the detail and other components improved a lot!
