HOMEWORK!
This page is to keep everyone in the loop and the students on their toes!
(Updated every week)
Here is the stationery list for Kauri class 2022.
HOMEWORK
Below are the basic, every night expectations. If there is anything new it will be communicated to you.
All of us in T.M. will be in spelling groups and we are given new words to learn and learn about each week.
These lists can be found on the Spelling Pages linked above.
These will be tested on Mondays.
You can also go on Readiwriter for extra practice.
We will all have a Basic Facts level we are working at. Most of us will have a certain set of facts we should be learning and practising.
Addition, Make Ten, Facts to 20 and Subtraction Practise Games
It is really important for us all to read or be read to for 15-20 minutes every night. This helps with vocabulary and syntax learning. If we get to talk about the book with someone this really helps our comprehension.
Another, digital option, is Read Theory
If we are reading it ourselves, it should be a book at a level easy enough that we can enjoy reading it and understand it. Our Teacher(s) will try to make sure we have something suitable from the library.
Our Library day is Monday.
We will continue the Book Club that some of you are used to in a few weeks, it will not be the same as you have a different teacher.
This is to encourage the children to read their book every night so they can share something new most weeks and have something to discuss with their group and then make a recommendation. (Thank you Ms Dods for this idea!)
