Final Product

The final product for this expedition will gather together all of our learning about cells, systems, how energy moves through a food chain and the delicate balance of ecosystems.

In answer to our guiding question of "What is my impact on the world around me?" we will be focussing on the ecosystem of the Humberhead Peatlands and in particular the nightjar. The nightjar is on the red list of bird species in the UK.

Our final product is to create a virtual tour of the Humberhead Peatlands, with information about the ecosystem, the underlying biology that supports the ecosystem and the impact that humans have on the nightjar and this important habitat.

The model below is an example of how technology can be used in this difficult time to create a virtual tour. This example is about herring gulls.

The tour we build will raise awareness of the work that is being done to protect this habitat and these wonderful birds.

Who knows, perhaps soon we might even be able to do the tour for real, with our families.
