Highlights of the Commerce Section
Provides a platform for the working students to fulfill their dream of acquiring B.Com. degree.
Number of academic and extracurricular activities are organised with overwhelming response from the students though most of the students of the commerce section work during the day time.
The Commerce Section extends constructive support to the needy students by providing various scholarships and fellowships.
Since 2010, the college is autonomous and the Commerce Section is performing successfully under autonomy, though the majority of the students work throughout the day.
Under autonomy, the syllabus of the Commerce Section is revised, making it more practical and career oriented.
On any given day, the attendance of students in the classroom is over 80%.
The faculty of the Commerce Section is indeed one of a kind, dedicated and supportive.
Inter-religious prayer service is organised for the FY, SY and TY students.
Orientation is conducted for newly admitted FY students to make them free and open.
The cultural activities organised on the occasion of the feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola and St. Francis Xavier, and the Christmas, more than fun and entertainment, inculcate a spirit of unity even in diversity.
Inter-class competitions are conducted to develop a spirit of fair competition amongst the students.
The students of the Commerce Section participate in various Inter-Collegiate Competitions and win numerous prizes, challenging even students of day colleges.
Outreach programmes are organised to involve students in environmental and social issues.
Guest lectures are organised on the syllabus related topics.
Students get the opportunity to visit Harvard Universtiy, USA as a part of the exchange programme.
Remedial coaching classes are conducted for the weak students.
Coaching classes are conducted once in a week throughout the year for the aspirants of the competitive examinations such as UPSC and MPSC.
Since 2010, students of the Commerce Section have been organising 'Sitare: Stars of the Night', a national level inter-collegiate competition for the night college students.
Few of the students of the Commerce Section have successfully completed their higher studies from premier IIM's of the nation.
Few of the students have started their own business and consultancy practice as CA, CS and Advocates and doing good for society.
Many of the students have started their own enterprises ranging from manufacturing to varied services pan India.
