-FICTION-- We continued taking notes on fiction.
*Plot--> the sequence of events in a story 1. exposition 2. rising action 3. climax 4. resolution
*Conflict--> internal (inside/ person vs. self) external (outside/ person vs. person, nature/obstacle, society)
We watched a short video about conflict. We will continue with notes on fiction tomorrow.
Fri. 8-28-26
-Journal-- Free Write Friday! Write about anything you'd like. (1/2 page minimum for credit)
-FICTION-- We started taking notes on fiction in preparation for our first literature story!
-Homework: WOW (abrupt, wrath) due Friday, 9/4.
Thurs. 8-27-26
-We started our new read aloud book! (Granny Torrelli Makes Soup by Sharon Creech)
-We set up our journals.
-Journal-- Happy New (School) Year! What is your new school year's resolution?
-Literature textbooks were handed out. You are responsible for your assigned book for the school year. Please cover these old but special books! Bring your book to class each day along with your notebook, journal, and AR book.
Wed. 8-26-26
-First day of school! I'm glad you're here!
-We talked about nouns, adjectives, and verbs and how they could be used to tell about us.
My example... noun- teacher, mom, reader adjective- short, helpful verb- reading, making things
-Please make sure you bring your classroom notebook and your journal notebook to class tomorrow.
-We did some ice breaker activities!
