Miss Sievers
About Miss Sievers:
Hey There Hawks! My name is Rebecca Sievers and I’m the school counselor here at Xavier Elementary School, the McDonald Street Campus. I absolutely love being here and am super excited for another awesome school year.
Before my time at Xavier, and for the greater part of the last eight years, I served as the Executive Director of Camp Tekakwitha. My experiences at Camp Tekakwitha taught me the importance of having a healthy dose of fun incorporated into every experience. I’m a proud alumna of both St. Norbert College (bachelors) and Ball State University (masters) and I am currently pursuing a second master’s degree in counseling from Lakeland University.
My philosophy is rooted in the belief that every single child has incredible potential, and in the right environment and with the right support, the sky is the limit. The foundation of the work that I do focuses on a strengths-based and solutions-focused approach, and I find that when we highlight the strengths of a person, their willingness to learn and grow expands exponentially. I’m so excited to get to walk along the journey of this school year and beyond with the students AND families here at Xavier Elementary.
In my free time, I serve as a Volunteer Firefighter and First Responder with the Village of Kimberly Fire and Rescue. I am also actively involved in Christmas Stars and All Rise, both productions of the Xavier Fine Arts Department. I love to spend time with my family and one of my favorite roles is as Aunt Rebecca to my nieces and nephews.
I’m no stranger to the Xavier System as I’m a 2008 graduate of Xavier High School. I also spent quite a few years coaching within both the Xavier Volleyball and Xavier Girl’s Basketball Programs. I am a firm believer in giving back to the systems and organizations that help shape who we are, and Xavier Athletics has had a huge impact on my personal development.
I am very much looking forward to another awesome year at Xavier Elementary. Please feel free to reach out to me at any time with questions or concerns. The best way to contact me is either through my school email or through a phone call. My top priority is to support the Xavier community in any way that I can, and I consider it a true honor to be able to be a part of your student's journey.
Welcome to Xavier and #GoHawks!
