A longtime Life Member of Dallas Safari Club, Todd began hunting as a youngster with his father, grandfathers and uncles, instilled with a passion that continues to this very day.
His educational path led to a 30 year career in the United States Navy, where “Todd” the nascent hunter evolved to become naval aviator “Zeke”, an EA-6B Prowler pilot. Zeke’s success as an unrestricted line officer, coupled with his proven command record, then saw “Zeke” transformed to “CAPTAIN Zecchin”, who continued service as the commanding officer of the aircraft carriers USS JOHN F. KENNEDY and USS KITTY HAWK. CAPTAIN Zecchin’s tenure progressed to the US Naval Forces Command Staff in Europe and Africa, where his responsibilities included liaison with numerous Heads of State and foreign Military Leadership.
Since departing the U.S. Navy, CAPTAIN Zecchin now professionally mentors a cadre of business leaders, owners, production staff, and many others from all around the world.
On March 21st, Zeke will connect the silence of an early morning hunt to the heavy mantle of global command. He will explain that a hunter’s first brush with mortality and the interdependence of hunters afield is the same DNA required to lead thousands in a cohesive, daunting force.
Zeke will share with us that the hunt was a primary school of stewardship—a realization that the power to take life is inseparable from the duty to protect it. Born in the grasslands and forests, this reverence became the bedrock of a career where security, peace, and lives depend upon a fragile balance between action and restraint.
Our audience will learn how a hunting ethos served as the ultimate diplomatic bridge. Whether afield in the veld, or in rooms filled with leaders of different races, religions, and cultures, the shared language of wildlife and its guardianship became an "ice breaker" that quickly transcended geopolitical friction.
His closing message to us will articulate that the outdoors is not an escape from the world, but the most profound way to understand it. To respect the hunt is to recognize a universal human thread, creating a common ground where even the most disparate cultures can find a shared path of understanding, respect, and preservation.
