When most travelers think of The Bahamas, they think of resorts and cruise ships; we’re here to share a side of the country that a lot of people overlook - The Abacos.
The 2.5 mile long Man-O-War Cay is small and quaint. With a population of only 215 people, it is still considered the boat building capital of The Bahamas. And it is a playground for anyone who loves being on or near the water!
Man-O-War Cay boasts world class beaches, a low key feel with inviting locals, a safe haven for families or couples who want a quiet trip, incredible fishing and diving, with some of the most beautiful sites imaginable up and down the island.
When groups are ready to stretch their legs, famous beach front bars, restaurants, shopping, snorkeling, fishing and much more are a short boat ride away.
The accommodations are clean and newly renovated, consisting of a 2 bedroom / 1 bathroom home perched at the highest point on the island. From the porch, views of the marina with it’s colorful boats, the Sea of Abaco, and numerous other cays are on one side, while partial views of the ocean are at your back. The home is fully furnished and outfitted for the groups staying there. Everything from towels and storage, plus a whole-house generator and washer/dryer are on site.
Man-O-War holds a few dining options, a full service marina, grocery store, small shops around the waterfront (including the world famous Sail Shop), and of course the beaches. The island is perfect for those wanting to explore by foot, as the only mode of vehicular transportation takes place with golf carts (rentals available).
