Plan. Prepare. Stay Aware !!
Disasters can strike at any time and any place. In Uinta County we are at risk for several different types of disasters - from floods and fires, to earthquakes and hazardous materials incidents.
In the event of an emergency, you and your family should be prepared for possible evacuations. Having a plan is important! Know what you need to take, how to secure your home, and evacuation routes, before you are put in GO! (an evacuation order is issued). By pre-identifying these steps, you and your family will be better prepared when disaster strikes.

SET (previously Pre-Evacuation Notice) means to Be Alert!
There is a potential threat in your area! Be ready to leave at a moment’s notice!
Alert family, neighbors and elderly while staying updated on shelters, roads, weather and fire.
If you will require assistance to evacuate, contact local emergency services to let them know ahead of time.
Gather essential belongings that you will want to take with you if you are placed in GO! such as medicine, clothes, important documents/items, etc. Remember that after you evacuate, it may be days or even weeks before you return. Pre-stage these items in your vehicle.
Make preparations inside and outside your home and property.
Prepare to evacuate if the situation escalates. Consider evacuating anyone who may require extra time, those with mobility issues, pets and livestock. You do not have to wait until an evacuation order is called. IF YOU FEEL YOUR LIFE IS IN DANGER, LEAVE IMMEDIATELY!
GO! (previously Evacuation Order) means Evacuate NOW! Do Not Delay!
Grab your essentials and gather your family, pets, livestock, emergency kit, essential belongings and LEAVE IMMEDIATELY. Do Not Delay!
There is immediate danger, and staying could put your life and the lives of first responders at risk. Evacuate immediately.
ACT EARLY, to avoid being caught by fire, smoke, or road congestion.
In many cases, re-entry will not be permitted until the threat has passed and the area has been deemed safe for re-entry by emergency personnel.
Know where you are going. If you require sheltering, check the EMA Facebook page and website for information.
Stay informed during evacuations! Follow local authorities’ websites or social media and watch for alerts!
If you need help evacuating, call 9-1-1 or local emergency services right away!
Pet and Livestock Evacuations
If you are placed in GO! (an evacuation order is put in place) for your area, it is important to take your pets and livestock with you as re-entry will not be permitted until the area has been deemed safe. Having a plan in place before an emergency or disaster strikes will greatly reduce the stress on both you and your animals. Pre-determine transportation and an appropriate location to take your animals if they cannot stay with you. Make sure that you have at least a one-week supply of food and clean water, any medications that your animals may need, identification, ownership paperwork and/or photos of you and your animals. For small animals bring collars, leashes, crates, pet carriers, familiar toys, and bedding. For horses be sure to have halters and lead ropes.
If you do not have the means or time to safely evacuate your animals/livestock, contact:
