The mission of the State Budget Department is to provide assistance and technical expertise to the Governor, the Legislature, and state agencies on the allocation of state resources to best accomplish the goals and objectives of government programs.
In 2024, Governor Mark Gordon directed the Wyoming State Budget Department (SBD) to establish the State’s first centralized Grants Management Office (GMO) dedicated to assisting Wyoming’s state agencies, local governments, Tribal governments and organizations, small businesses, and nonprofits in identifying, pursuing, and managing grant funding. To bring this directive to fruition, the GMO launched two transformative initiatives: the Wyoming Grant Assistance Program (WYGAP), a technical assistance program, and the Wyoming Grants Connect Hub. Together, these efforts aim to equip communities across Wyoming with the tools, resources, and support they need to access and manage federal and state funding.
