I personally liked this Benchmark. It has made me understand the SDGs more and understand what parts around the world are mostly affected. I have now collect my thought to think how I personally will make a affect on the world to make the issues around the world more better. My favorite part of the Benchmark was meeting with my advisor because as I was meeting with her I was explaining to her my goals for this year and she will be helping me accomplish it. The SDG & me assignment was enjoyable because it made me have more of a understanding of each SDG.
Within benchmark C I learned how much about immigrate on how the opportunities they are met with are not plentiful. People tend to ignore them & not see any potential in them due to them not being from America. They are not placed in good housing environment. But now it is resulting in peoples health issue being dangerous. As I had a meeting with my advisor she has explained to me how the process of immigration goes for a green card ir citizenship. The process is extremely long and there is a 50% chance you will get approved for it. I was now take my knowledge about immigration and turn it in to a helpful tool. I feel more confident about immigration and more aware of the issues that they are facing.
I've started taking steps to raise awareness among young people about the world, including the topic of immigration. By going to the youth school of our district and sharing stories that illustrate the importance of being kind, resilient, and driven, I'm helping to instill qualities that can greatly benefit them in life and in how they treat others. Since immigrants often face unfair treatment, it's important that the younger generation learns about empathy and respect early on. This way, they can carry these lessons forward and share their understanding with others.
