Hii:) You have made it to the first part of my Capstone Project. I am glad for you all to be apart of my capstone project. Here on my first page I will express to you who I am and my journey in life. I will as well be introducing my topic about immigration.

Who am I?

My name is Rokia. I am a 12th student that goes to Winton Woods High School. I am a 17 year old. I am a first generation immigrant from Mali & Senegal I am the oldest of three siblings. I am now a Senior graduating in May. My aura represents peace, calmness, & kindness. I am still growing and evolving everyday. I enjoy being around genuine, peaceful, & good people everyday. I enjoy to cook and learn new dishes. I am very involved within my school I do soccer, key club, broadcast, & the track team.

My New Approaching Jouney

I am a senior currently graduating in 8 days. The real world is approaching me at a rapid pace. I am still trying to enjoy my last few months of youth. I have set my mind on what I have wanted to do as my last year of high school is ending. I would like to begin my college process at University of Cincinnati for my first two years. Then maybe proceed to stay at the University of Cincinnati or I may complete my last 2 years out of state. I would like to begin my journey of real estate as soon as I graduate. I have already began my process of my real estate journey which is going well. Once I accomplish this section of my goal, I do plan on moving on out of state once I set my life up here in Ohio and then I'll start fresh in a new environment.

My Senior Advisor

My senior advisor has been here to help me grow as the women I am becoming. She has advice me ever since I was a sophomore. She has always genuinely cared for me and guided me throughout all of my struggles. She has always welcomed me with open hands. So I was blessed enough to have Mrs. Savage as my senior advisor. As we share our last moments together I will cherish each and every one of it:) I am happy to have you on my journey to womanhood.

MY TOPIC

My decision to focus my capstone on is immigration. The idea of immigration stems from witnessing the immense challenges my immigrant parents overcame. Despite risking everything for better prospects, securing legal status like citizenship or a green card is an uphill battle. Their perseverance and sacrifices inspire me to ease this arduous journey for others pursuing the American dream. In the future, I hope to create a shelter providing newly arrived immigrants temporary housing, resources and guidance until they can establish independence and thrive in their new home. This shelter will offer a supportive environment to help immigrants get on their feet and successfully integrate into their new communities. Additionally, through an educational website, I aim to spread awareness about the inequalities immigrants face globally while fostering understanding. By smoothing this process and promoting equality, we can embrace those yearning to build a brighter future in America
