Why Immigration?
The United States has seen immigration ever since its establishment. Even though immigrants created the United States, becoming a citizen of the United States is a very difficult process. The majority of people just have an idea of immigration from what they watch on TV; they have no idea what it's like to actually live with those issues. thus I've chosen to use it as the foundation for my project.
Where do you see immigration issues?
I see immigration issues everywhere. People don't realize that many people aren't citizens in the U.S. and they're just trying to get by. In my own family I see these issues. I have family members that have been in the United States for years and they have a difficult time just even trying to get their green card.
Why is immigration important to me?
Immigration is important to me because I've seen how stressful it is to people who live with these types of problems. Families have been torn apart because they just wanted to make like better for themselves or their kids. People come to America just to have some type of opportunity and the process of becoming a citizen or receiving your green card is one of the hardest things to be done in America. It's discrimination and common citizens, higher ups, government officials need to realize that.
