- Thank you so much Melissa Hoffman for sharing all of your knowledge on Toolkits. If you need any help getting one started, reach out to a colleague. We can also arrange for you to go see a toolkit being used in action in a classroom.
- Remember to start small and make it usable for your one-on-one conferring or small group instruction.
- It's exciting to see what toolkits can do for our instruction!

What's a Learning Lab?
In February, the second grade team and educators from WWS participated in our first Learning Lab with Reading Workshop.
McCormick opened up her classroom and participants observed a reading mini-lesson, independent reading, partner reading, and share. During the independent reading, participants were able to observe guided reading, small group instruction, push-in support, and conferring.
We had a half hour preconference to discuss what our focus of learning would be and then reflected for an hour after the workshop to discuss new learning.
This learning opportunity enabled us to see an entire workshop structure and think about how to increase student learning.

Writing celebrations are taking place all over Monon Trail! Writers in Melissa Capin's class ended their non-fiction writing unit by inviting students and teachers to come and listen to their writing! Reach out to Capin, Tiffney, McCormick, or Amy to find out more about writing celebrations!
