Daily Math Routine

Opening:

Students begin by working with their math buddy to work on a problem similar to what they will be learning that day! They will use white boards to record their answer. The new math skill is then modeled and we do some practice problems together!

Rotations:

After working together, I send students off to work in groups doing various activities. During one rotation the students work with me, in another they work solving problems independently, then they will work on their chromebooks and complete online activities matching the skill for the day and last they will work with partners in their group to practice their math facts!

Closing:

Students return to their seats and they use their white board to use higher-level thinking and relate the new skill to their real life. All buddies get to share their thinking!
