Bienvenidos

Welcome

"One language sets you in a corridor for life. Two languages open every door along the way"

My name is Ms. Ivanova Araujo. I am a native Spanish speaker from Ecuador. I graduated from Kean University and I am certified to teach grades k-12. I am so excited to be your child's Spanish teacher this year!

Teaching is an absolute passion of mine. It is going to be a year full of fun, learning, and lots of adventures. I have 15 years of experience in the school system and I have been teaching Spanish for 10 years. I am currently teaching kindergarten, first, second, third, fourth, and fifth grade Spanish. I truly enjoy working with elementary level students since they are enthusiastic learners.

I am very enthusiastic about teaching Spanish. My students are able to use a world language to engage in meaningful conversation as well as to understand spoken and written language. My students are able present information, concepts, and ideas, while gaining an understanding of the perspectives of other cultures. I foster oral communication with an emphasis on listening and speaking in kindergarten, first, and second grade. Reading and writing are an integral part of the Spanish curriculum in third, fourth, and fifth grades.

Students will receive a full year of World Language (Spanish) instruction from kindergarten through fifth grade in all four elementary schools in the Westwood Regional School District.

I am a traveling World Language (Spanish) teacher. I will be working at Berkeley Elementary School and Brookside Elementary schools from September through June.

Since I am a traveling teacher, the best and easiest way to communicate with me is via email. I check my email three times a day. Please feel free to email me directly at any time with any questions, comments, or concerns at ivanova.araujo@wwrsd.org.

Thank you!

Ms. Ivanova Araujo
