Hi! My name is Aanya, and I’m an 8th grader on team 8G. Throughout the past year, I’ve been doing a lot of baking. I even have that as my elective this year! On this page, you’ll find many of the recipes I’ve tried and my opinion on them. Click on the name of the food to go to the website with the recipe. Most of the pictures (except for one) are my own, so you’ll see how mine turned out! They’re all pretty easy, so don’t be scared to try it out even if you’ve just started baking.
Before I start, I wanted to share a link to you with egg substitutes. Eggs are used in many different recipes. This website tells you the best egg substitutes for different types of baked goods. Just press the button below to go to the website!
This is one of the recipes I got from school. I made this in a Bundt cake pan, but you can make it in a regular rectangular or square pan too! This recipe is really quick and easy to make, and it tastes amazing! The texture of this is really good too.
This is another one of the recipes from school. My favorite thing about this recipe is the shine that the dinner rolls get once they come out of the oven. Brushing them with the egg yolk helps a lot! They’re also really soft. You can have these dinner rolls by themselves, or with something. I had them just like that, and they tasted amazing!
This is definitely my favorite recipe on this page. I made this cake on my dad’s birthday and it turned out amazing! When I first looked over the recipe, I was a little hesitant because it had a lot of chocolate, but it turned out perfect! Just make sure you don’t open the oven door too many times while the cake is baking or it will sink in the middle. I added chocolate sprinkles on top, and they tasted really good because of the texture it added.
I found this recipe by myself. This recipe is really good because it is eggless and vegan! Instead of using nutmeg powder, I used the same amount of cocoa powder. The cocoa powder darkened the color a little, which looked really good. I didn’t add cinnamon powder or sunflower seeds to mine. Even though the salt is optional, I recommend adding it just to enhance the flavor a little. I love this recipe because of the texture the banana bread has. A good addition to this recipe is to add a few walnuts. You can put a few on top, or mix it into the batter. They add a nice crunch. You can also chocolate chips if you want to add a little of a chocolate flavor.
I don’t have my own picture for this one, the picture below is the one on the website, but you can see how amazing it looks in the video! I found this recipe when I had gone out with my friends when it had snowed, and wanted to make some hot chocolate to warm myself up when I got home. It has the perfect amount of chocolate, and the vanilla extract adds a little bit of a different taste.
These are some classic biscuits. I made these recently and everyone in my family loved them! This recipe gave me 7 biscuits, and I cut them into squares instead of using a biscuit cutter. You can do it either way, but it might take longer if you use a biscuit cutter. These biscuits have the perfect amount of butter too, giving them a nice, buttery taste.
