Welcome Woodrow Families!
Art Shirt: Send a large/oversized shirt to be worn in art class. This will stay at school.
Extra Clothes: Please keep a set of clothes (season appropriate) in a plastic bag in your child’s backpack (shirt, pants, socks) in case of accidents, spills, or other messes.
Dress for the weather: The kids will go outside for recess (3x day) when the weather is at least 20 degrees. This may include light rain or snow (we will make a judgement call). Please send coats, hats, gloves, and boots when appropriate.
Keep in mind weather may change from morning to afternoon recess!
We’re excited to welcome a new amazing local vendor, Rebel Promotions. Please keep an eye out for upcoming order windows—you won’t want to miss them!
We love parent/grandparent volunteers!
Please email us if you are interested in volunteering in the classroom (Language Arts and Math), class parties, projects to complete at home, library, lunch/recess when teacher or EA are absent.

At Woodrow Wilson Academy, our families are an important part of what makes our school community so special! We ask each family to contribute at least 20 volunteer hours during the school year. Your time and talents help create meaningful experiences for our students while supporting our teachers, staff, and school programs.
There are many ways to get involved, whether it's helping in the classroom, assisting at school events, serving on a committee, attending PTO meetings, or volunteering in other school activities. Every contribution makes a difference!
In August and September we will talk about RESPECT, LISTENING RULES, feelings, friendship, and HELPING OTHERS STANDING UP FOR THEMSELVES as a way for students to get along with others, learn in school, and do well in their world.
There will be 4 core virtue assemblies throughout the year to recognize students who show these virtues. Every kindergarten student will earn an award at one of the 4 assemblies. Parents will be contacted when their child is honored at an assembly.
We encourage kindergarten students to bring in connections they may make between current school topics and home.
This may include (but not limited to): Stuffed animals, books, pictures (can be emailed), souvenirs, coins, stories.
***Please help your child practice talking about their connections so they are comfortable in class. You may also write some notes so the teacher can help/prompt as needed. ***Please do not send anything valuable or breakable. We will do our very best to find time for them to share their connection the same day.
New boys and girls kinder size underwear to give out when kids have accidents.
Thank you for your support!
