Science Olympiad is a fun and exciting way for elementary students to explore science through teamwork and hands-on learning. Students compete in events that cover many science topics—like building simple machines, identifying different types of fossils, learning about the solar system, and even designing structures.
Each child joins a team and focuses on a few events where they become “mini experts.” It’s a great opportunity for students to build confidence, work together, and discover how exciting science can be outside the classroom. Parents love seeing their kids engaged, curious, and proud of what they’ve accomplished.
If your child enjoys asking questions, solving problems, building things, or just loves learning about how the world works, Science Olympiad could be a perfect fit!
The CJ Morris Science Olympiad team is open to fourth and fifth graders. Students interested in joining the team must fill out an application and attend the Science Olympiad Trials. Sixteen students will be selected each year to complete the the Annual Los Angeles Regionals Science Olympiad Tournament at Temple City High School where they will complete among 50 other schools. Applications are usually distributed in September. Good Luck!
