Teaching Internship Experiences and Impressions
I can still vividly remember my Grade 9 self wearing our teacher's uniform for our school performance and she told me, "You have to wear that with pride someday." And so I persevered and I am now a Practice Teacher aiming to wear their uniform after passing the licensure exam.
I have three words to sum up my Practice Teaching journey; awakening, rewarding, and growth.
Awakening
They say if you are a teacher, your job is to only teach the kids. The truth is, it goes beyond that. We do lesson planning, assessment, evaluation, and to name a few. It is draining as a Practice Teacher. What's more, if you are a Licensed Teacher. One should not belittle the job of a teacher and even other professions.
Rewarding
To hear your students say, "Ma'am, I am enjoying your class. You sound accommodating and confident." is truly rewarding. It is like years of doubting myself if I can handle a class disappeared in an instant. My struggle of putting my lesson ideas into an appropriate teaching approach has paid off every time I hear feedback from my students, critic teacher, and cooperating teacher.
Growth
"You have improved a lot from your 1st demo to your microteaching. You were able to apply what we have suggested for you to do." Who wouldn't smile from ear to ear after hearing those words? Truly, all the breakdowns gave way to breakthroughs. My timid 1st-year self is proud of what I have become today.
All these wouldn't be possible if not for the guidance of the WVSU community. They helped us embody the tradition of the university, and that is excellence.

“Creating a Safe, Fair, and Respectful Environment”
“Creating a Safe, Fair, and Respectful Environment” expresses the significance of creating an atmosphere that is safe, fair, and respectful to the educational environment of the learners, particularly towards those individuals with or at risk of developing serious emotional disability. To develop this kind of educational setting, six components must be kept in mind and be considered: Positive teacher-student relationships; a nurturing atmosphere; clear and consistent expectations for behavior; routines and rituals; appropriate amounts of structure for specific situations/needs, and; proactive intervention of problems.
We had a batchmate who was physically and mentally challenged back in 2013 - our Grade 7 years. Observing our instructors and staff, I noticed that they were not used to having that kind of student, notably our male teachers. As he was bullied, our batchmate became hesitant to attend school. He gradually gained confidence thanks to the efforts of our kind and capable teachers. When they finally realized how essential it is to be fair and respectful, the rest became more inclusive than they used to be.
Security must be achieved in both physical and psychological concepts to maintain an optimal level of learning ability. It should also be both comfortable and attractive to keep the student’s motivation towards learning on an upward trend. Violence and physical arguments must be avoided and students must be in the scope of perspective of the educator to monitor their status over the duration of learning. Keeping all of these factors must be a requirement in maintaining a positive educational environment so that learners will be able to retain knowledge and learn more effectively. Missing any of these mentioned factors will prevent the learners from achieving their most optimal state in learning and will result in a decreased level of motivation.

"Redefining the Role of Teachers in the Digital Era"
The concept of the virtual environment was developed with the advent of online learning. Dr. Jayendrakumar N. Amin's "Redefining the Role of Teachers in the Digital Era" portrays the need and describes the roles and changes that educators must consider and address in the 21st century. Globalization and digitalization have become the norm as a result of natural advancements in the world's technological capabilities, resulting in an interdependent network of countries advancing in diverse spectrums. As a result, information has been more widely disseminated and accessible to people of all ages, necessitating the capacity to evaluate the legibility and validity of information, as well as creative thinking, problem-solving, and information literacy skills.
As a result, modifications in the educator's role must be made to accommodate these changes in shaping learners to thrive and survive. Technology, digital resources, and a digital or virtual environment must be considered to assist learners in adapting to the digital era and using its resources wisely, not just to compete and continue with the old curriculum and the internet, but to use digital resources independently, critically assess their validity, reflect on their discoveries, apply what they have learned, and collaborate and contribute with one another on a consistent way.
In the case of students, they should also recognize the fact that teachers are adjusting and struggling too. This is the perfect time to learn from each other. This is not only an era for change but also an era to collaborate. Forward-thinking teachers capitalize on technology to foster teamwork and collaborative projects, linking their students to classrooms across the globe. Resourceful students grab the opportunity to help them grow and build linkages.
