Acknowledgment
"No one who achieves success does so without acknowledging the help of others. The wise and confident acknowledge this help with gratitude." - Alfred North Whitehead
It has been a tough journey but these people made me believe in myself more and what I am capable of:
To Dr. Victoria Albacete, my Critic Teacher, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for your patience and dedication. I am who I am as a Practice Teacher now because of your guidance and mentorship. Thank you for believing in me despite my hesitations and struggles.
To my family especially my mother, thank you for being my source of inspiration. Ever since I was a child, you will always remind me to do good in school because that is the only treasure you can afford to give to me. Thank you for being understanding during my busy days. Thank you for providing and financing both my needs in school and wants in life.
To my significant other, I appreciate you for being my backbone. Thank you for always reminding me to think outside the box. Your constant reminder that I am doing good never fails to boost my morale.
To my friends, Karen Kaye and Runuel, the BSED 4A, Grade 10 Practice Teachers, thank you for your initiative to help. I wouldn't last at our university if not for the bond we built and the moments we have shared. Carpe Diem!
To my professors, thank you for the knowledge you have shared with our class and for life hacks that can help us work smarter, not harder.
To West Visayas State University, thank you for helping me grow. Thank you for being my dream come true. Au revoir.
Prayer of a Practice Teacher
Almighty Father, We come to you today to thank you for the wonderful life you have given.
Thank you for the chance to serve and teach the next generation of this land.
Father, please fill our hearts with courage and your mighty Spirit.
Fill us with your strength, so we may rise to every challenge and not grow weary.
Fill us with your wisdom, so that we may be able to make a good judgment while guiding and helping others.
Fill us with your peace, so that when stress and anxiety come, they will not overwhelm us.
Lord, give me an open mind and heart to understand each child and to see in everyone a precious soul and humble heart.
Let me lead my students through paths of wonder.
Dear Father, as they look to me as their guide I look to You and humbly ask that You, will guide me too.
Amen.
Teaching Philosophy as a Beginning Teacher
THINK and DO GOOD.
A philosophy that will develop not just the mental ability of the students but as well as their coping mechanism towards change as they tend to preserve their values. One should know and understand every single thing first before reacting in order for them to deal with problems intelligently and not aggressively.
WHAT to teach…
Life-long learning. That will be the center of this philosophy. Each student must be equipped with learnings that will not last within the four corners of classrooms, instead of learning that is applicable to real-life situations. The technology class will make the students technologically literate. The religion and environmental class will mold them to become good citizens with just values and morality.
WHY teach…
To imply this philosophy is to adhere to societal issues. Living in this 21st century, it is a must for someone how to cope with change specifically when it comes to technology that further affects the behavior of a person. When technology is used in a bad way, that simply means that attitude will be long gone. With that, students must know the dos and don’ts. Of course, students must learn how to preserve their faith and humanity.
HOW to teach…
This philosophy will be student-centered and will focus more on 21st-century factors. With that, there will be an inclusion of technology for convenience. Students will have the freedom to express their thoughts through classroom discussions. Faith will also be restored in this philosophy with the guidance of the priests as well as students’ interaction with nature. Furthermore, the role of the teachers is to facilitate learning.
