In ACT WorkKeys Curriculum, you can follow a Learning Plan to guide and pace your studies. After you choose your end date, your Learning Plan automatically calculates a schedule to ensure you finish the course by that date. If you change this date later, your Learning Plan will adjust then, too!
The Structured Learning Plan guides you through the course. All the lessons are listed in ascending order by level. You begin by taking the Placement Quiz, and the score (Predicted Level) on that quiz indicates which level you should start your lessons at. You’ll complete every Learning Task to earn Knowledge Points, which count towards your Daily Knowledge Goal. Reaching your Daily Knowledge Goal will keep you on schedule. [right top image]
Your instructor may also create Assignments for you to focus on specific skills. You can access these by going to the “Assignments” tab. After completing a Learning Task, you’ll see a recap of your progress. You’ll also see the next step in your Learning Plan and a button to take you directly to that task. [right bottom image]
There are approximately 21 hours of lessons (3 +/- hours per unit 1-7) in Applied Math not including practice and quizzes.
Your Course Dashboard will continuously update as you study and complete quizzes with important information, including your percentile rank among other students, score predictions, and overall course progress. Every time you log in, you can review your progress here. The Course Dashboard will highlight your skill levels and lead you to your next Learning Task.
The image below describes how to find the 'User Portal' to have a quick look at your courses, when you were last active, the amount of progress and how long you have to complete it.
Practice questions enable you to test your knowledge before taking the Level Quizzes.
Toggling "Review Answers" on or off lets you decide whether you want to see feedback on your selected answer to a question immediately or wait until the end of your session.
You may reset all practice questions for the entire course or only reset a specific category (topic) of practice questions. Resetting will erase your answers, allowing you to attempt the same questions again.
You can select "Done Practicing" at any time to take a break, although you must complete the questions in each task to take the Level Quiz.
While reviewing your answers, you may choose to rate your Confidence Level. Confidence Levels are an optional method of recording how confident you feel that you understand the concept presented in each question correctly. You may then use the "Confidence Levels" tab at the top of the Practice section homepage to review questions marked as "Low," "Medium," or "High."
You can see your aggregate Practice Question scores at three different levels:
Percent correct across all Practice Questions
Percent correct across a category
Percent correct across a session
When you complete a Practice Question task from the Learning Plan, you'll get your percent correct based on that session.
If you do not complete all of the Practice questions for a category (topic) simultaneously, when you exit, you will see a percent correct based on the questions answered during that session. The Practice Dashboard lists all of the tasks and displays, for each task, the total number of questions, the number of questions completed, and the percent correct.
Each course has one placement quiz and level quizzes. Take the placement quiz at the beginning of your studies to determine which level you should begin your studies. At the end of each level, use the quiz to evaluate your progress.
Once you select and confirm an answer to a quiz question you may not go back and review any previous quiz question until after you have completed the entire quiz.
Once you’ve completed a quiz, you can review the individual questions and see your scores within specific categories such as fractions or unit conversions.
If you’d like to retake a quiz, either select the “Reset All Quizzes” button on the Quizzes dashboard (to retake all quizzes), or select “Reset Quiz” button after selecting an individual quiz.
