“Safeguarding” refers to measures designed to protect the health, wellbeing, and human rights of individuals. These measures allow children, young people, and adults at risk to live free from abuse, harm, and neglect.
Safeguarding is about:
What we do if we think you are being harmed (or likely to be harmed)
What you should do if you think someone else is being harmed
What we do if we think you are about to harm someone else
What we need you to do, to keep yourselves and others safe
We have a dedicated Safeguarding Team to support all our students who are aged 16-18 as well as adults who may be at risk, whilst studying with Warrington & Vale Royal College. Our Safeguarding Team is experienced in supporting students with a range of issues, including:
Physical abuse
Emotional abuse
Sexual abuse
Neglect
Online abuse, including social media
Mental health issues
Sexual harassment and misconduct

We want all our students to keep safe, this is why we have a Safeguarding Team. PLEASE TELL SOMEONE if you have any concerns about yourself or others. We have access to a range of support services both inside and outside of college and we are here to help. Tell your teacher, assessor, any member of staff, or contact our Safeguarding Team.
