Initial Assessments for Adult Students
As part of the enrolment process, we ask all students to complete 3 short initial assessments - Numeracy, Literacy and Digital Skills.
We ask for adult students to complete these initial assessments prior to the start of your course, however please do not worry if you are unable to for whatever reason, your teachers will support you to do so during the first few weeks. However, the earlier the better, as the results will help your teachers to identify the starting points for your learning journey. Moreover, knowing your confidence and skill levels will allow your teachers to tailor their plans to meet your needs and ensure that you receive the appropriate level of instruction and support.
Numeracy & Literacy
These short multiple choice initial assessments will assess your current level of competency in both literacy and numeracy.
Digital Skills
The digital skills assessment is effectively a self-assessment to build a complete picture of your current confidence and competency with regards to your digital skills. By completing the short questionnaire, it will identify the areas you are already confident with as well as where we may need to provide further digital support. Each question will ask you to rank your confidence on a scale of 1-5 (1 - Being Least Confident and 5 - Being Most Confident).
How to log in
All 3 initial assessments have been designed in a Microsoft Forms format so that they can be completed either on a computer or on a mobile device. To log in to each assessment you will need to use your college email and password. Your college email will be your studentnumber@student.wvr.ac.uk (e.g. 424765@student.wvr.ac.uk) and your password will be initially set as the word College (with a capital C) followed by your date of birth (e.g. College31122003).
Please take your time to complete each assessment so that all information that you provide is as accurate as possible.
