Ask your guidance counselor to add “Mixed Concert Choir” to your schedule for next year.
ADDITIONAL STEPS for those interested in Concert, Treble, or Show Choir:
Fill out the Audition Form under the Classwork tab in Google Classroom.
Attend auditions:
VOCAL AUDITIONS (for Concert, Treble, and Show Choir) - Email Mrs. Romero to schedule an audition.
DANCE AUDITIONS (for Show Choir) Date TBA - Check the Google Classroom for more details. Choreographer - Miss Holmstrom
To join Concert Choir, Mixed Choir, or Treble Choir
Ask your guidance counselor to add “Mixed Concert Choir” to your schedule. If applicable, attend a vocal audition.
To join Show Choir
Ask your guidance counselor to add “Mixed Concert Choir” to your schedule. Attend a vocal audition and dance auditions (see Mrs. Romero and Miss Holmstrom or your current choir/dance teacher for dates/times)
To join Vocal Point - Join the Google Classroom (code: nbn7yey) and come to our first rehearsal in September (announcement will be made).
To join Jazz Choir - Jazz Choir is only open to current members of Concert, Treble, and Show Choir. More information will be given in class in September.
Frequently Asked Questions:
WHO CAN JOIN CHOIR?
Any student that will be entering grades 9-12 in September. This includes current 8th graders, and students who are coming from a private school or out of district. All levels are welcome - no experience necessary.
WHEN ARE REHEARSALS?
Concert Choir, Mixed Choir, Show Choir, and Treble Choir meet during the school day as full-year A/B classes. Jazz Choir and Vocal Point meet once a week after school.
DO I HAVE TO AUDITION?
Mixed Chorus and Vocal Point do not require an audition. Concert Choir, Treble Choir, Show Choir, and Jazz Choir require an audition.
CAN I BE IN MORE THAN ONE CHOIR? CAN I BE IN BAND AND CHOIR?
Yes and yes! But each situation needs to be dealt with on an individual basis. Please contact Mrs. Romero with questions.
WHAT IF.... I CAN'T SING/I'VE NEVER BEEN IN CHOIR BEFORE/I CAN'T READ MUSIC?
Then...you should still join choir! Choir is a great way to learn about singing and improve your technique. All are welcome, from beginners to advanced singers and everyone in between!
