Welcome to Visual Art 3D at Colonia High School. Here you will develop your personal creativity and learn creative problem solving through the exploration of different art media such as foils, plaster, clay, found materials, etc. This art course specifies in creating three-dimensional art, where you will create mainly reliefs and sculptures. You will begin to develop confidence in your artistic ability but, more importantly, you will search for methods of unique self-expression through art production, guided instruction and constructive feedback. You will learn self problem solving when it comes to succeeding in constructing your three-dimensional artwork. You will learn the art specific vocabulary necessary to begin in-depth discussions and critical analysis of art and life. Final Exam for Course: Portfolio evaluation, multiple choice, and short answer accumulated test.
Materials you must have: Notebook/sketchbook, pencils, pencil eraser
It is also strongly suggested you have: pencil box or case for your materials to be left in the classroom, smock or protective covering for clothing.
Borrowing Materials: You may sign out materials from the class with the teacher’s permission to work on your project at home, and you are expected to return these materials before first block the following day as other students in other classes may need them. Tools with sharp blades may not be taken home to work on projects due to safety hazards. If you fail to return the materials, you will be fined for the replacement cost. You may not borrow materials to do projects for other classes. The art room only has enough supplies for our current art students and we regret we are unable to share with other subject areas.
*All assignments, projects, documents and hand-outs for the course are available on Google Classroom.
