About Me

Hello, I am Mr. Romano and this is my 18th year as a middle school math teacher.  I received my Bachelors Degree from Montclair State University in Business Administration and I earned my Masters Degree from New Jersey City University (NJCU) in Educational Technology.  I also recently earned my supervisors and principals certification through NJ EXCEL.  I’ve spent my first 5 years as a teacher teaching 7th and 8th grade and this is my 13th year teaching 6th grade.  Prior to teaching, I spent several years in various roles in the finance industry.  I believe that my career background and personal experiences give me a unique perspective to bring to my math classroom.

Each and every day that school is in session, I aim to teach math in an engaging and easy to understand way.  I strive to accomplish this through the use of technology, hands-on activities and by relating the content to real-life whenever possible.  I also focus on making my classroom a welcoming and relaxed environment that makes students comfortable being there.  I believe that mutual respect goes a long way in creating a positive classroom atmosphere.

For fun, I enjoy history, science, cooking, photography, playing sports, Rutgers' Athletics and spending time with friends and family.
