Welcome to the Choir!
The award winning Choral Program at Woodbridge Middle School is open to any 6th, 7th or 8th Grade Student who loves to sing. You can learn more about the three groups offered at WMS by using the drop down menu and by reading the Frequently Asked Questions below.
I've never sung before. Can I join the Choir?
Of course! Students of all ability levels are welcome to participate in our award winning Concert Choir. There is a place here for every student who is willing to work hard and be part of a team.
Do Choir Students have to take the class?
Yes. Choir students must enroll in the Vocal Music Class for two quarters. This is where we will prepare most of the songs for both our Winter and Spring Concerts! The quarters you are enrolled in the class will differ depending on your grade level:
6th Grade: Quarters 1 and 3
7th Grade: Quarters 1 and 3
8th Grade: Quarters 2 and 4
I would like to be in both Choir and Band. Will that be possible?
Yes! Many students take advantage of the opportunity to be a member of both our Instrumental and Vocal Music programs. Please see Mr. McGuire or Mrs. Maneri if you are interested in being a member of both groups.
What's Camerata? How is it different than Concert Choir?
Camerata ("small choir") is our Select Choir for students eager to perform challenging music. In addition to attending all grade level rehearsals, members of Camerata will have an additional rehearsal on Mondays after school, and will perform 1-2 additional selections in the Winter and Spring Concerts, as well as other community events which require a smaller group. Auditions will be in late September - click here for info.
Are we going on a Competition Trip again?
More information regarding our annual competition trip will be shared in early 2027!
This trip is a special privilege ~ students with behavior infractions or who miss any mandatory performance will NOT be allowed to participate.
