Applying to be a member?

Eligibility Requirements:

• You must be a Junior or Senior and have completed Algebra 1 and Geometry.

• You must currently be registered for Algebra 2H or higher. Namely, you must be registered for Pre-Calc C, Calc C, AP Calc AB, AP Calc BC, AP Computer Science, and/or Calc 3C). If you're currently in Algebra 2H, you need to be registered for AP Pre-calc next semester. 

• You must have completed an honors mathematics course in high school.

• You must be enrolled in at least one math class each year of high school.

• You need to be in good academic standing in ALL courses that rely heavily on mathematics. This means...

  • An average of B or higher in all math classes

  • An average of B- or higher in all other classes

• The application is due Friday, October 10th, 2025.

Contracts and By-laws

After your membership status has been determined, fill out the following academic and behavior contract AND submit membership dues PRIOR to the induction ceremony. 

After induction...

To stay active, you must fulfill the following requirements:

1. Join our Google Classroom and Remind.

2. Attend mandatory, monthly meetings

3. Fulfill at least 10 hours of volunteer work each year of active membership. 

4. An initial fee of $20; A Renewal fee of $10 to be given to

   • Mr. Tufts in Room 234

   • Dr. Chen in Room 182

Please note that membership fees are non-refundable.

The Induction Ceremony is held each year at the end of November in the media center. Prospective members will be informed before the induction ceremony.

Volunteer Hours

Volunteer Hours are required each year that you are in Mu Alpha Theta. It is your responsibility to regularly verify the hours posted.
