AP Calculus AB/BC

Full Year, Block 1

AP Calculus AB/BC is a linked, full-year course (AB in Fall and/or BC in Spring) in differential and integral calculus with elementary functions. Problem-solving and analytical skills will be strengthened throughout the course. This course is intended for students who have a thorough knowledge of college preparatory mathematics, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and analytic geometry. AB topics include the following: limits and continuity, derivatives and their applications, the definite integral, differential equations, mathematical modeling, and applications of definite integrals. BC Topics include vectors, techniques of integration, parametric and polar equations, and sequences and series. The course is designed to prepare the student for taking the Advanced Placement Calculus Exam, given each May by The College Board. Passing the AP exam can equate to college credit at most colleges or universities.
