Attendance: Attendance in the block schedule is critical. Students are responsible for acquiring all missed notes, handouts, and homework when absent.
Tardiness: Students will be marked late for class after the bell without a pass. A student who has missed a bell without a pass will be recorded. School policy regarding tardiness will be enforced.
Major Assessments: Tests, projects, essays, and alternative (MAJOR) assessments will count as 50% or your grade.
Tests will be given periodically. All tests may be made up of objective (multiple-choice) and essay portions. Students absent the day before a test will be required to take the test as planned. Students absent on the day of an assessment will be required to make it up before or after school.
Alternative Assessments/ Projects will take place consistently throughout the semester. Students will be required to make posters, ticket stubs, presentations, and possibly perform. Students absent on the day an assessment is due will be required to make it up/hand it in the following class period unless it was a digital submission (Google Classroom) which in that case is still due at the original time.
Minor Assessments: Individual and Group (MINOR) assignments will be given regularly and count as 50% of your grade. Students absent on the date of an assignment must hand it in to me before class the next day to avoid a penalty. IF YOU ARE ABSENT, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE TO COME SEE ME WITH YOUR WORK OR NOTIFY ME THAT IT WAS SUBMITTED LATE. All assignments will be posted in Google Classroom.
