Beginner Mandarin Chinese

Course Overview:

The 7th Grade Beginner Mandarin course is designed to help students develop fundamental speaking and comprehension skills in Mandarin, the standard language of China. Over the course of one semester (two marking periods), students will learn Pinyin (the Romanization of Chinese sounds) and be introduced to basic Chinese characters.

What Students Will Learn:

• Basic conversational Mandarin

• Essential Pinyin for pronunciation

• Introduction to foundational Chinese characters

Course Structure:
