Week of Inclusion
National Inclusion Week is the annual celebration of togetherness, recognizing inclusion in all of its forms. It highlights the importance of inclusive practices, especially within our schools, to educate students on their role in the quest for equality. The goal of this week is to provide an opportunity to build an inclusive school culture where all students feel part of the school community.
Week of Respect
In 2011, New Jersey signed into law the New Jersey Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act, a policy created by the New Jersey Legislature that combats bullying in public schools across the state. The Week of Respect, which grew out of the Act, is held annually to raise awareness, educate, and advocate against harassment, intimidation and bullying.
This week we are recognizing the Week of Respect and Inclusion—a time to remind ourselves that the way we treat one another shapes our school culture every single day. Our theme this year is “Respect Builds Community.” Respect isn’t just about being polite—it’s about listening, valuing differences, and making sure everyone feels like they belong. When we show respect to our classmates, teachers, and staff, we help create a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment for all. Throughout the week, you’ll hear reminders and see opportunities to get involved in activities that promote kindness, empathy, and understanding. Let’s commit to making respect a daily habit, because together, we build a stronger community. We're kicking off the week by inviting everyone to sign the Anti-Racism Pledge. By adding your name, you’re committing to making our school a place where kindness, fairness, and inclusion come first.
