Spring Semester: 2026-2027

Class Expectations:

-Daily class materials: Chromebook, notebook (digital or paper), pen or pencil

- All work and reminders for tests and quizzes are posted on Google Classroom for reference. 

• **Most assignments, aside from projects, are administered through Supersite (vhlcentral.com). Vtext (virtual textbook) and tutorials for review are always available for review via Supersite. 

-Classwork (minor assessment): Several assignments are posted daily on Supersite. Many activities, though not all, are thoroughly reviewed in class.  All work must be completed credit. Late work entails a 5% penalty per day and will not be accepted past a week from the due date.              

-Friday quizzes (minor assessment grade)

-Weekly Compositions (minor assessment)

-Google Slides & Jamboard Presentations (major assessment)

-Formal tests: speaking, listening, writing (major assessment)

-Weekly Group Work: Use vocabulary and grammar to communicate with your classmates (minor assessment).

Cell phone policy: As per NJ state law, cell phone usage is not permitted at any time in class. If I see you with your phone out, there will be disciplinary consequences that may include confiscation of your phone.  

***Class participation is vital to your grade. You must speak in class as often as possible. If you do not actively participate, you will lose points in your daily participation grade. The only way to way to master a language is to speak it!
