In Genesis the following organization strategies are used:
Items that are not handed in are recorded as "I" or "INC" and they count as a zero until handed in/made up. 5 points per day are deducted for 3 days. After the third day the item may not be turned in and the zero will stand.
Items missed due to absence are recoreded as "M" or "MISSING" until handed in/made up. Items missed due to absence may be made up for full credit with no deductions. Students have 2 school days for every absence to make up those assignments.
The lowest grade recorded in the gradebook will be a 50, unless effort is not shown on the assignment, in which case it will be the actual raw score of the assignment. The actual grade will be listed in the notes visible to parents/guardians. In math class in particular, handing in tests, quizzes and homeowrk without work is a perfect illustration of effort not being show.
The Grading Breakdown for all courses is as follows:
33% (1/3) Major Assessments. Major assessments are tests and/or projects.
67% (2/3) Minor Assessments. Minor assessments are all assignments that are not Major Assessments. All homework, classwork, sub work, test review, notebook checks and quizzes along with any are minor assessments.
