Dear Gifted and Talented Parents and Students,
Hello and welcome to a new year! We are excited for this year, as we have so many fun and challenging activities planned. Although we are all anxious to begin, we will be starting classes for Grades 4 & 5 on Monday, September 15th.
We have outlined a few important items to take note of:
Students are responsible for checking this website regularly for required activities. This is an opportunity to build independence and accountability.
Students are responsible for finding out what they missed in class and making up the work if necessary. If there is a problem in this area, we would be happy to meet with the teachers, students, and/or parents in order to resolve the issue.
This website is a work-in-progress, and our hope is that it becomes a valuable resource for both students and parents as we all try to navigate through these sometimes challenging years! Gifted students have special qualities and needs. We will be providing articles, links, and opportunities for online discussions (See the Parent Page) to help understand and nurture your gifted child. Please feel free to browse around the website and take full advantage of the information offered.
We will have some opportunities for students to display their talents at evening events. We will give you these dates as far in advance as possible, and hope that your child will make every effort to attend as they will have worked very hard in preparation for these events.
Please see below for supply list.
Feel free to contact us via email with any questions, comments or concerns.
Thank you for all of your continued support and we are looking forward to working together toward a rigorous, fun, and spectacular year in Gifted and Talented!
Sincerely,
Dana Castellana and Matt Dauchert
