Help Me Write is a Gemini feature that can assist you in writing inside of Google Docs. Along side of that, you can also use "Help Me Write" to give students feedback on their assignments. As a side note, we are currently working on getting "Help Me Write" disabled for students.

We all know that Canva has great templates and elements for designing, but one of it's most exciting uses is the Video editor! You can have students use Canva's video and audio tools to share thinking, illustrate ideas or concepts, or just be plain creative!
Here are some videos that you can use with students!
Built into Google Classroom and Google Workspace is the option to create Vids. Vids is a video project creator that is run on the Google Workspace platform. Students can use Vids to create, screenrecord, voice record, explain their thinking, share new ideas, and more. The editor has access to stock elements and Gemini AI tools for video and image generation. Because it is built into Google Classroom, it is easy to add and assign Vid projects to students!

There are two new releases for Lightspeed worth checking out.
If a student is logged into multiple devices you will now see a pink icon under their screen picture. Click on the icon to select which device to watch. Note this should only be needed if they have a loaner device.
You will now see new options on your scheduling screen. They have done away with "Ad hoc" and replaced it with a timer and a start button. This makes it easier to access and use on the fly. Previously created schedules are still in place, they just have streamlined the start/stop process.
Chromebooks have a different set of keys and rules that it might be helpful to know about when working with students. For example, did you know that the students don't have a Caps Lock key, instead they have to use a shortcut to activate it? Also, they have a Launcher/Search button on their keyboard that is just a circle? And that circle has a lot of functionality? Think of this like the Windows button on your keyboard. Check out more about the launcher button here.
Check out the Chromebook Shortcut Cheat Sheet below tos ee some ideas on how students can utilize shortcuts.
In the top right corner of Gmail, you should now see a Studio button. This is a AI powered rules system that allows you to customize how your Gmail behaves. For example, you can have the studio categorize all your email into labels for you and have it automatically save all attachments to specific folders in your Drive.
Unlike older rules systems, this flow uses real world language to make it easier to get started.
