Gemini's newest photo creation tools does a solid job of creating images. I made photo, and the infographic below using the feature. Unlike before where images were riddled with mistakes, messed up text, and more, now we get the ability to create the thing we want to show our students.
To start, go to Gemini and from the "Tools" drop down, choose "Create Images". That will load up Nano Banana. A great name for a tool, don't you think? 😉 Add in your specific prompt and let it rip!
What do you think? Does "Robot Liz" look like me? I think so, and I'm definitely distracted by it!
I really love infographics. I think it is a great way to showcase information. Check out this infographic about this post!
Now, check out this amazing article from Eric Curtis at Control Alt Achieve where he spells out some tips and examples of how you can quickly use Gemini's Nano Banana skills to create you compelling and informational Infographics!
Formative now has a tool for creating Multi-Part Questions! Check it out here.
Student can now take notes as they work! Student notes allow learners to open a persistent, private notes window directly alongside any formative. This means students no longer need to switch contexts (e.g., jump to a separate app or piece of paper) while engaging with the material. They can capture spontaneous thoughts, define vocabulary, or create summary points immediately as they work through the assignment. Student will find notes in the top right of their formative screen. Check out this post to see how it looks!
Sections now can preserve order of questions. This means that you can set up different sections to your assessments where some information is shuffled, and others is kept in the correct order. Learn more about creating sections here.
Luna can now change question types for you!
Canva templates allow students to go beyond a standard presentation. Here are some links to the built in templates that could unlock a new way of "showing what you know". You can search the library for even more ideas!
Did you know that we still have a Screenpal account, and now you and/or your students could use it to create videos? Screenpal's extension allows you to record with one click anywhere you are and launch the recorder. Built in annotation tools, plus crop and trip functions, make for an easy way to show and explain your screen for others. The video will automatically embed itself in the Doc, Email or other text based area where you started from. You could even record youreslf sharing information with students in real time, then share the video to them to replay at any time!

Flocabulary is now setup to offer "Playlists". They have some prebuilt or you can use the A.I. features to curate you a set of recommended lessons that you can share. All you need is a topic and a grade level and it will compile all of their resources into one easy to use playlist.
If you are new to Flocabulary, you can use the platform with almost any subject we offer. It has access to engaging videos set to hip hop music, vocabulary practice, flash cards, games, quizzes, and even a lyric lab where students can create their own songs about the subject/topic. One of my favorite things I've seen lately in "break it down", is that it prompts students to find and isolate the clip where a topic or idea is explained in the video, then they ask a reflection question. It is setup to engage students and to activate higher order thinking skills.
