Student Illness at School
Washington Township Public Schools works with the Gloucester County Department of Health to keep students healthy. If your child becomes sick at school, the nurse will determine if they need to go home. Parents should be prepared to pick up their child or ensure an authorized person listed in Genesis emergency contacts is available to do so.
Preventing and Reporting Illness
It may be difficult to determine if your child is too sick to attend school. Consult with your child's physician for guidance. For additional guidance, refer to NJDOH General Guidelines for the Control of Outbreaks in School and Childcare Settings School Exclusion List.
If there is an outbreak or suspected outbreak of any illness, the School Nurse will report it immediately to the local health department.
