Description: Envirothon is an academic competition in Environmental Science. Students compete in teams of five on topics ranging from Soils, Land Use, Aquatic Ecology, Forestry, Wildlife, and Environmental Issues. A current environmental issue is chosen each year as the “hot topic” for the focus of this station as well as the oral presentation component. Students will compete in the Delaware County competition in April each year with the winner receiving an invitation to the State competition in June.

Description: HOSA (Healthcare Opportunities for Students of America) is a global student-led organization that provides early experience in the medical field for students interested in healthcare. HOSA exposes students to community service and leadership opportunities while also providing students with competitions that consist of healthcare-related skills.

Description: Do you want to be a lawyer? Do you enjoy acting or debate? The Mock Trial society is a national organization that pairs students with practicing lawyers to train them to try fictional cases and compete locally against high school students.

Description: Reading Olympics is an annual competition during March/April where teams of 8-15 students read books from a list and then answer around 75 questions regarding the books. Despite the competition aspect of the club, we are a fun and chill club. We focus on enjoying reading and having fun with friends/teammates along with winning blue ribbons!

Description: Science Olympiad is a competition where teams of fifteen students compete in various science events. It stresses both hands-on activities such as chemistry labs and wooden plane building and conceptual understanding such as with epidemiology and ornithology.

Description: We want to use our club as a place to learn about Hispanic culture outside of class. We hope to meet once a month to play fun Kahoot games and just chill before class. We are open to anyone, whether you take Spanish, speak Spanish, or not!

Description: The SHHS TED Ed Club is a group of students who meet weekly to watch and talk about “lessons worth sharing” on current issues from students and other innovators from around the world. Curiosity is the only requirement! In the spring, we host a live TED Ed Student Talks program from the student body for the student body.
