Computers Club/WiCYS
Description: Computers Club is Strath Haven's oldest club, and it's home to everything computers: from coding and computer science to cybersecurity and video game development, if you're a fan, this is the place for you!
The mission of the WiCyS Student Chapter is to build a community within Strath Haven High School that promotes women’s education, participation, and leadership in the field of cybersecurity. The WiCyS is open to all students regardless of gender or technological experience.

ENVIROTHON
Description: Envirothon is an academic competition in Environmental Science. Students compete in teams of five on topics ranging from Soils, Land Use, Aquatic Ecology, Forestry, Wildlife, and Environmental Issues. A current environmental issue is chosen each year as the “hot topic” for the focus of this station as well as the oral presentation component. Students will compete in the Delaware County competition in April each year with the winner receiving an invitation to the State competition in June.

fish club
Description: The purpose of Fish Club/Aquatic Biology is for students to engage in hands-on care of tropical freshwater fish and aquatic plants and water chemistry education. We learn about testing for water quality, the importance of conservation, and the responsibility of proper fish keeping. Students have the opportunity to elect roles in weekly maintenance in which there is a brief training and access to step by step resources in the club google classroom. Our goal for the future is to elevate our current tank into a self sustaining ecosystem that demonstrates the balance occurring in natural water bodies.

Description: French Club is where students can gather to appreciate and learn about Francophone cultures. Description: Hi-Q is a club where we learn trivia about a variety of different topics from preset resources. Eventually, we battle in the Delco Hi-Q league against others schools in Jeopardy-like team competitions for superiority in the region.

Description: The group meets twice per month to creatively solve challenging mathematics problems. Students in the club are encouraged to represent Strath Haven High School in mathematics competitions such as the Pennsylvania Math League.

Mock Trial
Description: Do you want to be a lawyer? Do you enjoy acting or debate? The Mock Trial society is a national organization that pairs students with practicing lawyers to train them to try fictional cases and compete locally against high school students.

MODEL UN
Description: The Strath Haven Model UN Club operates a simulation of the United Nations where students portray delegates from various nations around the world. Model UN is a forum to discuss international relations, historical and current events from a variety of different perspectives, while also practicing team communications, debating and negotiating skills.

READING OLYMPICS
Description: Reading Olympics is an annual competition during March/April where teams of 8-15 students read books from a list and then answer around 75 questions regarding the books. Despite the competition aspect of the club, we are a fun and chill club. We focus on enjoying reading and having fun with friends/teammates along with winning blue ribbons!

Science Olympiad
Description: Science Olympiad is a competition where teams of fifteen students compete in various science events. It stresses both hands-on activities such as chemistry labs and wooden plane building and conceptual understanding such as with epidemiology and ornithology.

SHHS Ted Ed Club
Description: The SHHS TED Ed Club is a group of students who meet weekly to watch and talk about “lessons worth sharing” on current issues from students and other innovators from around the world. Curiosity is the only requirement! In the spring, we host a live TED Ed Student Talks program from the student body for the student body.

WOMEN IN STEM CLUB
Description: The WiSTEM club’s mission is to expose all types of learners to a variety of science topics and women in STEM, and to teach effective communication. We want to open the door to science for students who are hesitant to learn more about science or don’t have the resources to learn more. Our belief is that a strong foundation in science can lead to increased curiosity and innovation in later life.
