In Summer 2024, the District literacy specialists will be providing Summer Academy professional development sessions about Structured Literacy.

We will explore apps and ideas that provide opportunities for students to create and showcase their learning in new ways. Creative apps such as Canva, Apple Clips, iMovie, Book Creator, and more will be explored! We’ll also check out AR (augmented reality) apps that can provide students with immersive augmented reality experiences.

We will visit HIA and tour the PA Air Guard's base there before going to Ft. Indiantown Gap. The purpose is to hear about opportunities in the Guard but more importantly opportunities in Aviation with the goal of inspiring future aviators. They are willing to bring a helicopter and other equipment to the intermediate buildings next spring if we have enough teachers for this summer academy.
